Where It All Began
Zoe Design Forge was born from a singular conviction: that Uganda and East Africa deserve architecture that is both world-class and deeply rooted in its context. Founded in Kampala, the firm emerged from years of observing a gap — between the rapid urbanisation reshaping the region and the quality, sustainability, and intentionality of the built environment keeping pace with it.
Our founders set out to close that gap. Drawing on international training, a passion for sustainable design, and an intimate understanding of East Africa’s climate, culture, and community, Zoe Design Forge was established to bring a new standard of architectural excellence to the region. The name itself reflects our ethos: Zoe — meaning life — and Forge — the act of shaping something enduring through skill and intention.
Based in Uganda, we design for the continent. Every project we undertake is an opportunity to demonstrate that sustainability and sophistication are not in conflict — that the most beautiful buildings can also be the most responsible ones.

KMT Plaza Nansana
KMT Plaza is a vibrant mixed-use commercial development that brings together retail, office, and public gathering spaces within a single, cohesive architectural composition. Designed to activate its urban context, the plaza creates a dynamic environment where commerce and community coexist — drawing people in, encouraging movement, and fostering the kind of spontaneous interaction that makes great urban places. It is architecture that works as hard as the people who use it.
Wakiso Gardens
Wakiso Gardens is a demonstration of what contemporary landscape design can achieve when it is approached with the same rigour as built architecture. Water features, native plantings, and architectural hardscaping are woven together to create a series of outdoor spaces that feel both curated and natural. The result is a holistic environment — one that invites people to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with the landscape around them.
